About Tadcaster Model Flying Club

We are a BMFA affiliated model flying club established in 1992 who enjoy excellent flying facilities in a beautiful rural setting close to the village of Wighill.

We are a relatively small club with around 25 members whose interests are mainly in fixed wing models, both I.C. and electric. Although a couple of the members also fly helicopters and drones. (These members and their evil flying machines are believed to be the spawn of the devil and are treated as such by the other members)

A Our flying site - which we rent from a local farmer - is available all year round with the exception of Christmas day and Boxing day with flying until 9-00pm or dusk whichever is the earlier.

The Flying Field is a mile north of Wighill - 3 miles North of Tadcaster - 4 miles from Boston Spa - 5 miles from Wetherby - 12 miles from York.

Beginners are particularly welcome where advice and training is available through qualified, experienced tuition.
In addition we actively encourage improvement in flying standards through the BMFA Achievement Scheme where testing to A/B level is available through our club examiner
